The World of MuseumsIn the Old Town alone, you will find four precious museums on carnival, timber rafting, military history and art. Each topic is presented with great attention to detail. The Carnival Museum in the Niggelturm shows the so-called “fifth season” in all its colourful facets. The history of traffic and the history of timber rafting are presented in the corresponding museum. The Museum of Military History illustrates the former imperial town’s history of defence on 6 floors. In the municipal Museum Haus Löwenberg, art exhibitions are presented in a very special environment. Outside the old town walls, the Parament Museum in the motherhouse of the Franciscans and the world of stones in Reichenbach’s Mineral Gallery attract many visitors.
